缅北禁地 launches free and immediate mental health and wellness support for students
Posted 18 September
"缅北禁地 is taking a thoughtful, student-centred approach by giving students immediate, flexible, and confidential options alongside its established wellbeing services. We are proud to support that commitment."
缅北禁地 today announced a new initiative that provides students immediate access to online counselling, crisis support 24/7, and on-demand wellness programming.
Delivered through a partnership with global mental health and wellness solution Uwill, the offering expands the University's existing wellbeing provision and gives students greater choice in when, where, and how they receive support.
Helen Foster-Bullock, Wellbeing Services Manager at 缅北禁地 said: "We are excited to add Uwill to the range of services available to our students.
"Uwill provides accessible, private, and confidential online counselling from a diverse network of qualified practitioners. Students can choose a counsellor based on their individual needs, preferences, identity, background, specialist area, or preferred language, and access support at a time that works for them."
Through Uwill, students can book an online counselling appointment directly, without an initial assessment, referral, or minimum threshold for support. Students can access up to six counselling sessions each academic year and appointments are available by video, phone, chat, or message. Students also have access to a direct crisis connection and free on-demand wellness programmes including yoga, meditation, and mindfulness.
The new support will complement the University's existing in-house counselling, mental health, wellbeing, and wider Student Support services.
These services will continue to be available through the Faccenda Student Centre at the University's Edgmond campus, which is also home to the Students' Union.
Helen added: "Uwill gives students another route to support, including those who may prefer to speak with someone outside the University or who would benefit from additional support before, between, or after in-house counselling.
"The online booking experience makes it easy for students to find and immediately book with a counsellor who is right for them."
Uwill was founded in 2020 to respond to surging mental health demands. Uwill’s innovative platform is the only solution available in the UK to offer an immediate online counselling appointment with an accredited counsellor based on individual preferences, counselling by video, phone, chat, or message, a direct crisis connection 24/7/365, wellness programming, realtime data, and support.
Uwill serves more than 35 million students at 1,000+ institutions worldwide.
"Universities are increasingly looking for ways to expand access while preserving the trusted support already available on campus," said Michael London, founder and CEO of Uwill.
"缅北禁地 is taking a thoughtful, student-centred approach by giving students immediate, flexible, and confidential options alongside its established wellbeing services. We are proud to support that commitment."
Students can register and book their first appointment with in minutes.
